British Featherweight Boxing Champion Leigh Wood is the latest addition to Fothers Mission 24
He follows fellow Nottinghamshire sporting stars including Stuart Broad, Luke Fletcher, Ryan Yates, Jorge Grant and Nigel Jemson in running a mile with me and it’s great to have him along.
In February this year, Leigh knocked out Reece Mould in the 9th round to win the vacant British Featherweight Championship. He has an impressive career record of 24 wins from 26 fights, 14 by knockout. He is also the former Commonwealth and European Champion.
Leigh is still to confirm the time he will be running with me, but keep your eye on the website for full details. I would like to thank Leigh for his support.
What is Fothers Mission 24?

Fothers Mission 24 will see me, Simon Fotheringham, run a mile every hour for 24 hours to raise money for MND.
Following my father suffering for many years and losing his battle with MND last year, I wanted to do something to help the many other people and their families suffering with this horrendous disease.
I wanted to do something worthwhile and memorable in my Dad’s honour and you can read my full story here.
I’ll be joined along the way by some great friends and colleagues and also some amazing sporting and celebrity names. Only a few have been announced so far, but you can check out the full list here.
If you’d like to get involved with Fothers Mission 24, you can do so in many ways. Donations can be made via a dedicated JustGiving page, you can become a sponsor and enjoy a range of benefits. Alternatively, we appreciate all the support so feel free to spread the word and share this website with friends, family and colleagues or follow me on social media (links in the footer).
